Grantmaking
The Sheltering Arms Foundation supports high quality direct service programs and a limited number of advocacy efforts that raises the level of public awareness and commitment to the well-being of children. Advocacy programs might include public education campaigns, public policy development, research, coalition building, or community organizing.
To be eligible for a grant from The Sheltering Arms Foundation, the Internal Revenue Service must classify an organization as a 501(c)3 tax-exempt, nonprofit organization that is not a private foundation. The applicant must be located in and provide services within the state of Minnesota.
Application Deadline
The Foundation has one grant round each year. All proposals should be postmarked no later than January 20, 2011.
Episcopal Parish Grants
Small grants are offered (up to $1,000) to Minnesota Episcopal congregations supporting their efforts in building potential for vulnerable children.
SAF will support projects that help congregations improve the lives of children, youth and their families. This could be a program run by the congregation on behalf of its own children, should they fall into that category, or a program doing outreach to families in need. The funds could also support advocacy efforts within the congregation on behalf of vulnerable children.
The next deadline to submit a proposal is April 1, 2011. Click here for grant guidelines.
