Focus Area: Advocacy in Early Childhood
Grant Amount: $15,000
Based in St. Paul, serves Ramsey County. Through child and family services and employment services, Lifetrack works to end disparities, making Minnesota communities a place where all families can thrive.
Grant supports continuing a campaign by the Minnesota Targeted Home Visiting Coalition, for which Lifetrack is the fiscal agent, to secure statewide funding for targeted, intensive home visiting, increase political support for home visiting as a core early childhood service, and collaborate to improve the quality of home-visiting services. MTHVC will build on the successful 2017 legislative session, which secured the first new funding for home-visiting services in Minnesota in many years. The coalition was on track to broaden the kinds of programs the funding can be used for to include community-based programs in greater Minnesota, but its bill was vetoed as part of a broader omnibus bill. Grant funds will support statewide outreach and education to elected officials and candidates.
