Located in Minneapolis. Founded in 1878, TFP is a multi-service agency that works to close opportunity and achievement gaps for children and families living in deep poverty and experiencing high levels of trauma by providing counseling, education, and advocacy programs and services.

Grant supports Four Directions, an NAEYC-accredited, 4-Star Parent Aware-rated therapeutic preschool previously located across from Little Earth and now located inside TFP’s new headquarters in south Minneapolis. The preschool offers year-round, full-day early education, including Dakota and Ojibwe immersion services to meet the needs of the mostly Native families who are served, along with parent support services, basic needs assistance, developmental assessments, and therapeutic education and care—all designed to break cycles of poverty and trauma. Far surpassing state averages, 100% of the program’s 2024 graduates tested kindergarten ready.
