Focus Area: Early Childhood
Grant Amount: $10,000
Based in St. Paul, serving St. Paul’s West Side and West 7th neighborhoods. Serving families since 1897, Neighborhood House is a multi-location human service center that over the years has supported new immigrants from many different countries and cultural groups. It provides basic needs services, adult education, gang reduction and intervention programs and early childhood programs.
Grant supports the home visiting component of Neighborhood House’s parent and early childhood education program, which provides 2 home visits per month to address the barriers that mostly Hmong and Latinx families face in preparing their children for school. The program incorporates many social-emotional elements, and families needing additional mental health services are connected through Help Me Grow to trauma specialists. The program is increasing staffing and increasing the number of families receiving home visits.
