Located in Minneapolis. Morning Glory Montessori is an all-boys, Afrocentric, Christian, Montessori school for age 3 to 3rd grade. MGM provides a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment that affirms, inspires, and supports boys to develop freely, excel academically, and become who God designed them to be. MGM opened its doors in late summer 2024.

Grant supports mentorship for the founding staff and development of an intergenerational elders volunteer program. A former attorney and long-term Minneapolis Public Schools substitute teacher will serve as MGM’s Founding Guide/Trained Assistant and the coordinator of the Mzee (Elders) Circle program. She will play a crucial role in developing a sustainable program to recruit community elders to volunteer at MGM and support the boys’ academic and social-emotional development.
