Focus Area: Advocacy in Early Childhood

Minnesota Coalition for Family Home Visiting represents a statewide group of practitioners and leaders of targeted home visiting programs, services, and systems. It advocates to secure statewide funding for targeted, intensive home visiting, increase political support for home visiting as a core early childhood service, and collaborate to improve the quality of home visiting services. St. David’s, based in Minnetonka and serving the Twin Cities metro area, is the fiscal sponsor for MCFHV; it is a long-established children’s mental health organization serving more than 2,500 children, adults, and families each year.

Grant supports advocacy work for the upcoming 2025-26 legislative session, prioritizing 2 issues based on impact to families: 1) defending state and federal funding for family home visiting services, and 2) defending Medicaid coverage and continuous eligibility coverage for children up to age 6.
