Minnesota Family Home Visiting Coalition

Focus Area: Advocacy in Early Childhood

Grant Amount: $10,000

Minnesota Coalition for Family Home Visiting represents a statewide, diverse group of practitioners and leaders of targeted home visiting programs, services, and systems. It advocates to secure statewide funding for targeted, intensive home visiting, increase political support for home visiting as a core early childhood service, and collaborate to improve the quality of home visiting services. St. David’s, based in Minnetonka and serving the Twin Cities metro area, is the fiscal sponsor for MCFHV; it is a long-established children’s mental health organization serving more than 2,500 children, adults, and families each year.

Grant supports advocacy work for the upcoming 2024-25 legislative session, prioritizing 2 issues: 1) Increasing the types of providers who can provide and bill Medical Assistance for family home visiting services, and 2) increasing access to maternal and infant/early childhood mental health services.
